Bob Dylan was once quoted as saying “There’s nothing so stable as change.” For the Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Institute, we have chosen to embrace Mr. Dylan’s theory, and inject a little change of our own.
For over 30 years, the Chamber has accepted the charge of developing future business and community leaders as part of our Leadership Institute Program. Our own development, as members of the Leadership Institute Committee, consists of acknowledging the feedback that we receive from our past students.
Following the graduation of the 2016 class, a survey was sent out in an attempt to garner input focused on opportunities for improvement. Over 75% of the students polled made the request to restructure the classes to weekly as opposed to our scheduled bi-weekly (every other week) meetings. Participants felt that a week in-between classes offered too much downtime, and resulted in the “brain dumping” of information. Based on that feedback, the committee has decided to push back the Leadership Institute kick-off month from January to March.
In 2017, our student orientation event will be scheduled for March 14th with the first classroom session to be held on March 21st. Students will meet at the CCC Tech Center on Tuesdays from 8-11AM. The graduation ceremony will take place in conjunction with the Chamber Annual Meeting in June.
Applications are now being accepted for the 2017 class of the Leadership Institute!
All completed applications must be submitted by 5PM on Wednesday, February 1st. Any applications received after that deadline will not be considered. Students will be notified of their acceptance by the second week in February. At that time, a letter of notification, along with an invoice ($525), will be
emailed to each participating student.
The class will be limited to 25 students, so take your time when filling out your application.
