Timber Lake Playhouse will hold auditions for the All Area Teen Production of The Addams Family on Friday, May 17 from 6:00 until 9:00 and Saturday, May 18 from 10:00 until 4:00 at the theatre on Black Oak Road south of Mt. Carroll.

The Addams Family features an original story, and it’s every father’s nightmare. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met. And if that weren’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s ‘normal’ boyfriend and his parents.  Performances are July 8 at 7:30 and July 9, 11, 12, & 13 at 2:00.  The Addams Family is directed by Education Director, Robert McFletcher-Jones.
If you are interested in auditioning for The Addams Family, email Timber Lake Playhouse at boxoffice@timberlakeplayhouse.org with the subject line: “The Addams Family” or call the TLP Box Office at (815) 244-2035 on Mondays through Fridays from 10:00 until 3:00 for an audition appointment. Please include the full name of the person auditioning, parent or guardian names if under 18, and the date and time frame that they are available to audition.  You will receive a reply with an appointment time.

Performers are asked to prepare a song to sing with an accompanist (no more than 32 bars).  Songs from the show or in the style of the show are encouraged.  Bring sheet music for the accompanist as no one will be allowed to sing without accompaniment.

You may be asked to read from a script of the show and attend a dance call as a part of your audition.  Visit our website at www.timberlakeplayhouse.org for specific audition requirements for each role.

“Timber Lake Playhouse is committed to bringing more opportunity for our local artists to become involved in the work at the playhouse,” said Executive Director, Dan Danielowski.  “We have a great program that should be shared locally as much as possible.”
