The Felix Adler Children's Discovery Center, "Clinton, Iowa's Children's Museum!” will host special guests from Nestle Purina, create with play dough, and welcome the return of juggler and chess teacher Miss Jean. Also, Great Give Day, a local day for online giving is May 18.
WOW Wednesdays with Miss Jean, 2 - 5 pm
Jean Sweeney, longtime favorite Discovery Center volunteer returns to the children’s museum every Wednesday afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m. Her wide-ranging, unique activities are open to all ages including adults. She will teach chess, play chess matches, teach juggling, and share her large collection of logic puzzles, hands-on blocks and magnet games, and brain builder kits.
Funtime Friday & Funtime Saturday, at 10:30 a.m. each morning
This Friday, May 13, and Saturday, May 14, the Funtime program will host special guests from Clinton’s Nestle Purina. They will show how dog food is made right here in the Clinton plant. They will use play dough to demonstrate and the program will include hands-on fun. Please join us to show our support of this very successful local business.
The Funtime program begins at 10:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday mornings, and is a free activity with museum admission.
Saturday Special, every Saturday afternoon from 2 to 3 p.m.
On Saturday, May 14, play dough fun will continue as we get creative sculpting pets from play dough. It will be open-ended artistic fun with all ages welcome.
Saturday Special is Saturday afternoon fun each week at the Discovery Center, from 2 to 3 p.m. The activity is perfect for school-aged kids and their grown-ups to explore a topic and try their hands at something new. All ages are always welcome, and the activity in included in museum admission.
Great Give Day, Online Endowment Fund Event, Wednesday, May 18
The Felix Adler Children’s Discovery Center will once again participate in Great Give Day on May 18, a 24-hour online event to help area non-profits grow their endowment funds. The event is hosted by Clinton’s local River Bluff Community Foundation and its affiliate the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque.

The Discovery Center is proud to be building an endowment fund which acts as a permanent savings plan. This fund will help sustain the children’s museum and strengthen their mission to provide learning opportunities for area children and families, long into the future.

Admission is $5 per person for ages two to 64, $4 per person for ages 65 and older, free for children one year and younger, and free for Discovery Center members. Annual memberships are available at the museum.
