The Clinton LumberKings are excited to announce their participation in Minor League Baseball's (MiLB) second annual Copa de la Diversion ("Copa"). As one of MiLB's 72 teams to participate in authentically connecting to the Latinx community, the LumberKings will change their name, logo, and colors for Sunday games when they take the field as the Clinton Elotes.

The LumberKings will honor the rich heritage of the Hispanic communities in Eastern Iowa, Western Illinois, and in the game of the baseball, by adopting the name of Elotes (grilled corn) for each home Sunday game and select road games. The new name will bring a new logo, hats, jerseys, and colors as part of an overall tip of the cap to Latin American culture. Copa games in Clinton will feature Latin American food items and celebrations of Hispanic culture and music.

Following an incredible roll out of the Copa nights in 2018, the events have seen an incredible growth across the country. Additionally, MiLB announced in December a partnership with the Lupus Foundation of America to become an "Official Charity of MiLB Copa de la Diversion", marking the first-ever philanthropic partner tied specifically to MiLB's Latinx fan engagement initiative.

Full merchandise of the Clinton Elotes will be available for purchase at the ballpark in the Lumber Yard Team Store and online at lumberkings.com. For more information on all Copa de la Diversion teams and events visit MiLB.com.
