Gilda’s Club Quad Cities is excited to announce that after two years of being absent due to the coronavirus pandemic, we are returning to offer a FREE monthly in-person Cancer Support Group to accommodate the needs of the community.  According to the 2021 Cancer in Iowa Report, there are approximately 2,625 cancer survivors living in Clinton County with an estimated number of 315 newly diagnosed cancers in 2021. The support group will meet on the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 1:00-2:30pm at the YWCA where group members can share thoughts, feelings, and their experiences. The support group is open to anyone impacted by a cancer diagnosis, both the person with the diagnosis as well as their friends and family.  Joining with others that are going through or have gone through a cancer diagnosis empowers patients and their families to know that they are not alone and helps them better manage their diagnosis. Registration to attend is required. New member meetings will be provided at 12:30pm prior to the scheduled support group. New member orientation meetings are great for getting started with the free services Gilda’s Club Quad Cities has to offer by providing a complete overview of programming.
