The Clinton Community College Phi Theta Kappa has again collected holiday cards for military troops.  This year, holiday and greeting cards will be sent to Camp Fuji, Japan.

The Phi Theta Kappa Chapter organized the Holiday Card project in 2010 in response to the Chapter president suggestion to send cards to her son’s military unit overseas.  The chapter has continued every year sending to those who have a connection to CCC or a CCC family member.  The campus' Student Veteran Association collaborates with PTK by packing and mailing the box.  Many of our cards are donated by faculty, staff and members of the community.

CCC President Dr. Karen Vickers commented, “I am so proud of the work of our PTK chapter to recognize and honor the contributions of our veterans.  The holidays can be a lonely time for those away from home and the cards will show those serving our country that they are in our thoughts and prayers.”

In addition to the Cards for the Troops this fall, the chapter has created a Pollinator Garden at Clinton Community College and The Little Lending Library, a library on a cart that is movable to locations throughout campus.  The chapter has also done research on stress and final exams, with the results being how the students react to that stress resulting in PTK members providing stress bags for students containing a brochure of stress relievers and some stress relieving items.  These were distributed on the annual CCC De-Stress Day.
