• Art Classes for March

    The River Arts Center is offering the following variety of classes for March. Each of these classes costs $35.00 with a $5.00 discount for Clinton Art Association members who operate the art center. They held in the upstairs classroom with an elevator available.  Call 563-243-3300 to register or stop in at 229-5th Ave.So., in downtown Clinton, Iowa

    Saturday, March 2, 1-4 PM--Watercolor with Tom Hempel of Davenport. Paint a rural scene with barn, shed or bridge  from his ideas or your own photo. Learn how to paint reflections in water.  For those with some experience in watercolor.  Bring your own supplies, and a list of supply ideas is available in the art gallery.

    Saturday, March 9, 12-4 PM--Beginning Drawing with Bridget Gabbard of Morrison, Ill.  This class will introduce beginners to the foundations of drawing.  Students will draw small objects from life, learn about light and values, materials and terminology. Supply list available. Take home a finished drawing.

    Saturday, March 16, 10:00 AM -3:00 PM--3-D Hot Glue Painting with Diane Guntzel of Clinton.   Sketch a tree or other subject, then use hot glue to create a 3-dimensional effect and paint when dry.  Most supplies included, list is available inside.  For all experience levels.   Bring a sack lunch.

    Saturday, March 23, The Basics of Painting Ukraniann Easter Eggs with Tanya Easley of Fulton.  Students will learn the art of drawing Pysanky, also known as Ukraniann or Russian Easter eggs.  This is a wax resist and dye series that results in beautiful designs with jewel-like colors.  All supplies provided
