The Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce held its
136th Annual Meeting/Awards dinner on Thursday May 29th at the Best
western Frontier. The “Red Carpet” theme brought in
record attendance for the event. The evening marked the official
passing of the gavel from 2007/2008 Board Chair Brenda Thornton to
2008/2009 Board Chair Mike Johnson. Several awards were presented
throughout the evening.

The Annual Meeting/Awards Dinner also marked the
graduation of the Chamber’s 2007/2008
Leadership Institute class.
Awards were also presented to 25 year Chamber members: The
Alverno, Clinton Floral Shop, Don’s Jewelry, Eagle Point
Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Bentler Equipment Celebration,
Electric Service Quality Concrete Co., Zirkelbach Refrigeration
Inc.
Two businesses, Clausen
Supply Trucking & Warehousing and Rastrelli’s Restaurant, were honored for 50 years of
membership with the Clinton Area
Chamber of Commerce.
The awards were capped off by a tribute to Hugh
Lamont and the establishment of the Hugh
Lamont Memorial “Straight Ahead” Award.
Incoming Chamber Board Chair, Mike Johnson wrapped
up the ceremony with words about the exciting things coming up at the
Chamber and throughout the Community.
